Members of the Omo Owa Oke Ode Ruling Houses of Igbajoland, Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State have appealed to the state governor, Ademola Adeleke to take actions on the reports and recommendations of the committee set up to review the alleged illegal installation of Adegboyega Famodun as the Owa of Igbajoland.

The royal families, in a statement issued and signed on Monday by Olumide Oladele, Loye Oke Odo Ruling House, Igbajo; Prince Adewole Alabi, Baba Owa Igbajo Ruling House; and Prince Adeyinka Adereni of the Omokan Igbajo Ruling House, asked Governor Adeleke to stop the desecration of the traditional stool by making public the reports and recommendations of the committee.

The committee had since January, this year submitted its reports to the state governor.

However, about eight months after, Adeleke is yet to take actions on the suspended monarch and two others in Ikirun and Iree towns.

According to the Igbajo ruling houses, it was a wise step taken by Governor Adeleke to have suspended the traditional ruler, but, noted that the delay in revealing the recommendations presented by the committee has been dampening the morales of citizens.

They addressed Adeleke in their statement saying, “Our amiable governor sir, It is however disheartening that the reports and recommendations of the committee which you set up to critically review and make corrective and restorative recommendations to your government on the way forward out of this quagmire has not been released nor made public up-till now many months after the sitting and completion of the assignment of this committee and these has a very strong way of dampening the morales of masses who already see you as the voice of the voiceless and hope of cheated and oppressed.

“The non-release of the reports and recommendations of this committee has already emboldened the powers that be that profited and fed fat in the corridors of power in the last administration to openly go about boasting that there is nothing which you or your administration can do.

“In view of the above, we – the members of Omo Owa Oke Ode Ruling Houses of Igbajo, Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State – as law abiding citizens and your loyal subjects in our great state hereby humbly appeal to you- the peoples’ governor to quickly and urgently use your good office to facilitate the immediate release of the reports and recommendations of the committee set up to critically review the illegal installation of Prince Adgboyega Famodun as the Illegal and unlawful Owa of Igbajoland.

“We also humbly appeal that quick and immediate implementation of the said recommendations of this review committee be carried out in order to prevent the further desecration of the hallowed Owa stool and throne. Justice must not only be done in this matter, it must be clearly seen and audibly heard to be done.”
