The Police in Lagos have confirmed the murder of a 21-year-old undergraduate, Augusta Osedion Onuwabuagbe, inside her lover’s apartment, in Ajah, Lagos.
The Command also confirmed the removal of the deceased’s genitals and retrieval of a suspected confessional note said to have been left behind by the suspect, 26-year-old Benjamin, popularly called Killaboi, who is currently on the run.
Detectives from Ajah Police Station had reportedly forced open the door of the suspect’s apartment located at Oral Estate, Ikota, Ajah, after the deceased’s mother complained to the Police that she could not reach her daughter.
Augusta, who was a student at Lead University, Ibadan, Oyo State, had, on July 11, reportedly phoned her mother to intimate her of a quarrel she had with her lover, noting that she would be going to his place to resolve the issue with him.
According to sources, the deceased’s mother said she made efforts to reconcile her daughter and her lover but could not reach both of them on their phones.
She reportedly said she had to reach out to Augusta’s roommate, who took her to Benjamin’s residence in Ajah on Saturday, July 15.
On arrival at the residence, they were said to have discovered Augusta’s Mercedes Benz C30 parked outside Benjamin’s house.
After knocking at the door for a long time without response, they were said to have approached the estate’s security post from where they were asked to go to the Police Station.
Augusta’s mother, it was learnt, went to the police station and filed a complaint which prompted the Divisional Police Officer, to lead detectives to the apartment and force the door open.
