NASFAT rejoices with Tinubu, urges him to give Nigerians peaceful, prosperous nation

The Nasrul-lahi-l-faith society has congratulated the President-elect, Bola Ahmed, on his victory at the just-concluded presidential poll.

The President of NASFAT, Niyi Yusuf, in his opening remark at an “Annual Iftar with the media” in Lagos on Sunday, noted that it was heartwarming that for the first time in Nigeria’s democratic journey, a southern Muslim, Bola Tinubu, became the president of the country.

Yusuf urged Tinubu to give Nigerians a peaceful and prosperous nation and lead the people right.

He also said that the systemic “business as usual” syndrome prevalent in the country must be discontinued.

While delivering her presentation, the Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University who is also the first female Muslim Vice-Chancellor to head a University in Nigeria, Ramota Karim, said that the University was an arm of NASFAT, and was making great strides in the tertiary education system.

One of the programmes at the event was the unveiling of the media arm of NASFAT, the Lasilkiin Communication by Isiaq Ajibola who said they would soon be granted their Digital Terrestrial License to operate with.

While delivering the lecture topic titled “Search for religious harmony, peace and development: the role of Islamic societies,” the guest lecturer and resident Imam, University of Lagos Mosque, Mustapha Ibrahim, said it was essential to note that any nation or community is “definitely based on a delicate network of human relationships which automatically becomes disorganised or chaotic under the slightest provocation.”

According to Ibrahim, Muslims must try not to spoil what they find on earth and must also improve upon what they find on the earth so that the nation would experience religious harmony and also survive.

Some eminent Muslim personalities present at the occasion were the Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Morufu Abdul Azeez Onike, the President of NASFAT, Niyi Yusuf, the Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, an arm of NASFAT, Ramota Karim.
