Market capitalization loses N64.21bn as All Share Index dips by 0.25%

Starting the week, the Lagos bourse halted its six-day winning streak as the All-Share Index lost 0.25% to settle at 47,436.45 points on Monday.

Selloffs in industrial heavyweight, BUACEMENT (-2.78%) offset gains in Tier-1 banking names, ZENITHBANK (+0.46) and STANBIC (+4.08) driving the market’s weak performance.

As a result, the year-to-date return fell to 11.05%, while market capitalization lost N64.21bn to close at N25.84trn.

Analysis of Monday’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by -71.71%.

A total of 279.28m shares valued at N1.56bn were exchanged in 3,781 deals.

REGALINS (-4.00%) led the volume chart with 97.63m units traded while BUACEMENT (-2.78%) led the value chart in deals worth N268.67m.

Market breadth closed flat. NEM (+9.22%) topped 12 others on the gainer’s table while JAIZBANK (-6.82%) led 12 others on the laggard’s log.
