32-yr-old man docked for impersonating Nigerian Army personnel

The Lagos State Police Command has dragged a 32- year- old- man, Tanko Satumari, before a Lagos Magistrates’ Court for allegedly impersonating a personnel of the Nigerian Army.

The accused person, Satumari, was said to have worn a Nigerian Army camouflage T- Shirt and a  face cap at the Abule -Ado Bus Stop, along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, when he was arrested.

The prosecutor, Inspector Feddy Asu, told the court that the accused person “did impersonate a personnel of the Nigerian Army by wearing Army camouflage T-shirt and face cap , and thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under section 77 (a) (b) Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”

According to the second count charge, Satumari “did unlawfully wear Army camouflage T-Shirt and face cap and thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 79 (i) (b) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”

In the third count charge the prosecutor said that the accused person “did unlawfully have in his possession one Army camouflage  T-shirt and face cap “which you cannot give a satisfactory account of how you came about it and thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 329 (c) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”

The accused person, Satumari, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
