24-year-old man has been remanded in prison custody over an alleged attempted murder.

The accused, Charles Ogbonna, was brought to an Apapa Magistrate Court, in Lagos State, for allegedly stabbing his master, one Eze Nwachukwu, for owing him cash remuneration.

The police said that Ogbonna committed the offence at Number 21, Ben Onyeka Street, Olodi-Apapa,
Lagos.

The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the accused, Ogbonna,  “did unlawfully assault one Eze Nwachukwu by stabbing him two places in his back and one place at the chest with a knife, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria , 2015.”

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge proffered against him.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs. Joy Ogbomoiko, did not grant the accused bail, saying, ’till sighting of
victim’.

Ogbomoiko thereafter adjourned the case till January 15, 2019.
