More than 20 million people residing in Northeast Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen are at the risk of starvation just as 1.4 million children are prone to dying of acute malnutrition and diseases.

This was announced by the Canadian Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, Hon MarieClaude Bibeau.

According to him, this impending danger is as a result of severe drought and conflict faced daily by farmers from herdsmen, which is militating against farming activities, coupled with the harsh effect of climate change.
