The President of Niger Delta Youths Association, Victor James, has called on Nigerians to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

James, who declared this to our correspondent while evaluating the performance of the President, said youths in the country constitute about 70 per cent and must use their number to vote out the President and his party, the All Progressives Congress.

But the NDYA president lamented that the youths also contributed to the leadership crisis in the country.

We should get ready to vote Buhari out of office come 2019, and vote for a credible candidate. We must avoid the mistakes of the past and the only way we can do this is by voting for the right candidate, devoid of ethnicity or monetary coloration

According to him, “Nigerians are professionals in the act of lamentation and wailing, especially now that the leadership of the country has failed them; yet, they would not hesitate to cast their votes for these selfish leaders during elections.

“For instance, Nigerians are complaining about the hike in Premium Motor Spirit; dwindling economic fortunes and other setbacks; yet during elections, they sell their votes for stipends.

“A true leader would not buy votes during elections, neither would he use the resources of his country to travel to another country for medical treatment, leaving his country’s healthcare system in a poor state.”

He called on members of the public to get ready to vote out President Buhari in 2019 and vote for a credible candidate other than the recycled politicians, if Nigeria must make a headway as a nation.

James said, “We should get ready to vote Buhari out of office come 2019, and vote for a credible candidate. We must avoid the mistakes of the past and the only way we can do this is by voting for the right candidate, devoid of ethnicity or monetary coloration.”

Speaking on the local government election held recently in Delta State, James, while expressing delight with the outcome, said the results showed that the Peoples Democratic Party would record landslide victory in the region, in next year’s election.

“With the success of the local government poll in Delta State, come 2019 general elections, PDP will carpet the APC, Labour Party, LP, or any political party that may rise against it.

He said the elections were a test-run for the party, adding that it was satisfied with the results of the elections and would build upon the success recorded
thus far.

“We worked hard for the victory and it yielded dividends at the end of the day. I could remember vividly, while we were campaigning, other political parties were busy carrying out their propaganda on social media and the pages of newspapers.”

He further commended the youths for their support, urging them to do more in the
2019 poll.
