…charges INEC to be truly independent, conduct credible elections
The Spiritual Father/Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Most Rev (Dr.) Samuel Adefila Abidoye, has called on Nigerians to shun money bag politicians in the 2019 general elections.
Abidoye said that the Nigerian electorate should rather vote for their preferred candidates according to their conscience during next year’s polls.

The cleric stated this during a press conference to herald the 78th International Convention/Conference of the church at its Galilee Land in Orile-Igbon, Oyo State.
Abidoye, who noted that the just concluded gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun states were characterised by vote buying, urged politicians to desist from such corrupt acts.
He also charged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure it maintained its independence in its conduct of the 2019 general elections to ensure the credibility of the exercise.
Abidoye stressed that INEC should allow the votes to count be respecting the choice made by the people during the elections.
The CSMC spiritual father also advised security agencies in the country to play their role during the conduct of the 2019 general elections without being biased or allowing themselves to be used by any of the political parties and candidates contesting at the polls to use them for any illegal and unlawful
duties.
“INEC should really remain independent in the 2019 general elections in order to give credibility to the exercise and allow the people’s choices to prevail. Similarly, all the security agencies should live up to the expectation of all Nigerians by discharging their duties with utmost responsibility,” Abidye said.
The cleric, who condemned the ongoing violence and killings in Kaduna State, urged the government and all security agencies in the country to take necessary urgent steps to stop the carnage.
He pleaded with Nigerians to learn to resolve issues amicably, stressing that Nigerians had become more civilised than to be killing one another.
Also speaking on the current issue of minimum wage for workers, Abidoye, who stated that the demand was genuine and long overdue, urged the Federal Government to without any further delay, agree on a final minimum wage for all workers in the country in order to avoid industrial unrest in the nearest future.
