2019 polls: Ogun Vigilance Service embarks on mass recruitment of operatives

The Vigilance Service of Ogun State has commenced a mass recruitment of personnel across various divisions in the state ahead of the 2019 general
elections.

Our correspondent gathered that the recruitment exercise is aimed at fortifying the entire VSO work-force.

One of the vigilance officials attached to Ward 11 Division in Ifo, Ogun State, who pleaded anonymity, said in the build-up to the elections, which is less than a year
from now, the operatives of the service in the state would work in partnership with the police and other security agencies to ensure that all parts of the state are free from criminal
activities.

Meanwhile, the residents of Ifelodun community in Ifo have hired the services of night guards in order to safeguard lives and property as well as rid their community of the activities of
criminals.

Tajudeen Abati, a community leader in the area, said the move hds become necessary following the tension that was being generated by the utterances and body languages of some politicians across the country.
