No fewer than 20 people have been reported dead in an auto crash that occurred on Sunday in Ajebo area, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ogun State.
The passengers were travelling from Abeokuta to Lagos in a commercial bus when their bus had a head-on collision with a tanker. The accident occurred at about 12.50pm on a part of the road where traffic was diverted into one lane due to on-going construction work.
According to an eyewitness, the accident was caused by the driver of a fuel tanker, which was coming from Ibadan.
She explained that the tanker collided with the bus when it wanted to overtake another vehicle, killing all passengers and the driver of the bus instantly.
She added that the bodies had been taken to a morgue at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State.
