A multiple accident has claimed no fewer than two lives in Iyana Ipaja, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Many were also injured in the accident, which involved about three cars and a truck, according to eyewitnesses.

A truck carrying beer bottles had collided with a bus conveying Christian worshippers, it was learnt.

This caused the multiple accident, in which a baby also reportedly died, eyewitnesses told The Point.

Social media images showed that the injured were all stained with blood as sympathisers battled to save some victims who had been trapped under the vehicles.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, however, only confirmed the death of two adults.

The Director-General, LASEMA, Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the agency’s heavy equipment had been activated for the recovery operation.

He said the remains of those who lost their lives had been recovered from the wreckage and handed over to authorities and would be taken to the mortuary.
