14 candidates set for Edo guber

The Independent National Electoral Commission has listed 14 governorship candidates for the September 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo State.

The list has the names of governorship candidates from 14 political parties. The breakdown shows that 13 of the candidates are males while only one is a female.

The list of cleared candidates and their political parties are: Action Alliance (Obhafuoso Paul. E. Governor, Sunday Johnbull, Deputy Governor); African Democratic Congress  (Akhigbe B Ehiabhi, Governor; Mabel Oboh    Deputy Governor); Action Democratic Party (Ibio L Emmanuel, Governor; Demond Imasuen, Deputy Governor); and All Progressives Congress (Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu, Governor; Audu Ganiyu, Deputy Governor).

Others are: All Progressives Grand Alliance (Lucky Osagie Idehen, Governor; Isah Asekhaimeh, Deputy Governor); Allied Peoples Movement (Igbineweka Osamuede, Governor; Obiyan Christian, Deputy Governor); All Peoples Party (Amos Osalumese Areloegbe, Governor; Afolabi Ogah, Deputy Governor); and Labour Party (Osifo Uhun-Ekpenma Isaiah, Governor; Omobayo Marvellous, Deputy Governor).

For the Nigerian People’s Party, Agolebun Tracy is the Governorship Candidate, while Enobhaysobo Jonathan is his running mate; National Rescue Movement (Stevie Nash Ozono, Governor; Osadolor Eghe Festus, Deputy Governor); Peoples Democratic Party (Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, Governor; Philip Shaibu, Deputy Governor); Young Progressive Party (Jones Osagiobare, Governor; Samson Olukayode Idowu, Deputy Governor); and Zenith Labour Party (Akhalamhe Amiemenoghena, Governor; Thompson Osadolor, Deputy Governor).
