ELDER statesman and leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Fasanmi, is dead.
Fasanmi, who was a senator in the Fourth Republic, died on Wednesday night, at the age of 94, according to a statement by his son, Afolabi.
“With gratitude to the Almighty God for a life well spent, we wish to announce the demise of our father, Senator Ayo Fasanmi, at the ripe age of 94 years,” Afolabi said.
According to him, Pa Fasanmi, a prominent All Progressives Congress chieftain, died peacefully in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
